"Scruffy Blue Tit" in soft pastel with artist Carol Kibble - Weds 31st July 2024
In this workshop expert pastel artist Carol Kibble will demonstrate the many ways she uses pastels to create different effects, and will guide you through her step by step process to paint this cute bird.
We will be working on premium Pastelmat surface which is renowned for its velvety texture and grabbing power, minimising the need for fixative and enabling you to build up many layers on your painting. Carol will also demonstrate how to achieve a “bokeh” background (a soft bubble-like background using layers of circles).
As well as soft pastels we will also be using pastel pencils for getting the final fine details onto your little bird. Carol provides plenty of one-to-one tuition throughout the day and will help you build up your confidence in soft pastels.
