Portraits in Pastel (from life) - with artist Alex Small - Thursday 1st August 2024

£89.00

This workshop is designed to help you simplify the art of painting a portrait from life using the versatile medium of soft pastels.

In the morning session, using charcoal and pastel, students will be led through valuable exercises, using photos of the afternoon’s models, to demonstrate how to handle the features of the face, head shape and proportion. The afternoon session will feature life models whose faces we already know from the morning session, and artist Alex Small will demonstrate the techniques he uses to draw portraits from life.

This workshop works well for anyone who has struggled to draw from life and wants to develop their life drawing skills. Beginners are welcome, however some drawing experience is preferable.
