Nature Journaling - with artist Andy Gray - Friday 9th August 2024

£89.00

Explore how to observe and document the natural world around you in this workshop which combines sketching, writing and painting. If you enjoy interacting with nature and would like to be able to document your experience in a meaningful way, you will enjoy this workshop.

You’ll be able to try out different approaches to journaling using a variety of media, working tonally at first and then later in colour. Artist Andy Gray will demonstrate how to capture your favourite species, including their habitat and some annotation to record additional information like the weather, time and date and personal reflections.

The day will start with some observational drawing and mark-making and move on to how to lay out your ideas including structure of the page, balance and text.

In the afternoon session we move on to colour and texture with some drawing from life. The day concludes with some time for you to work on your own preferred subject.

A concertina-style sketchbook is included in this workshop for you to take home and keep.
